Get ready to celebrate your public lands! On Saturday, September 27th, join Lassen Land and Trails Trust, the Bureau of Land Management, and the City of Susanville for a day dedicated to making our community safer and more beautiful.
The cleanup will focus on “fire safe” practices – the goal is to reduce vegetation fire hazards like dead standing brush and trees and cutting the low hanging branches off pines.
“And, after a windy summer,” organizers add, “there is always trash to clean up trapped along fences and tangled in tree limbs.”
The event starts at 9:00a.m. at the Historic Susanville Railroad Depot on Richmond Road.
You’ll be able to choose a project that interests you, with cleanup sites located along the Depot ‘Cut,’ the Susan River, and the Bizz Johnson Trail. Supplies and a delicious lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
