The Lassen Lightning 8U team traveled to Carson City last week, playing games against Nevada Hotshots 8U, Nevada Sharks 8U, Fallon 1908 8U and the Nevada Crushers 8U in the Northern Nevada 8U Tournament.

Lassen Lightning 8U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Mackenzie J grounded out, and Quincy C singled, each scoring one run.
Lassen Lightning 8U added one run in the second. Tristen M singled, making the score 3-0.
Lassen Lightning 8U added one run in the third after Melanie M singled.
Harlynn H began the game for Lassen Lightning 8U. The righty allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking none. Melanie pitched two innings of no-run ball for Lassen Lightning 8U in relief. The reliever allowed one hit, striking out six and walking none.
Mackenzie, Melanie, Quincy, and Tristen each drove in one run for Lassen Lightning 8U. Melanie went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Lassen Lightning 8U in hits. Melanie stole two bases. Lassen Lightning 8U ran wild on the base paths, amassing eight stolen bases for the game.
Players consist of, Harlynn Honea, Mackenzie Jones, Paityn Dardis, Abygail Smith, Melanie Major, Macy Major, Ashtyn Mackenzie, Tristen Mathews, Quincy Christensen, Jaycee Whitlock, Ava Hogan, Emma Walton and coaches Keith Honea and Antonia Marro.
The program is focused on the development of high level players in Lassen County, getting them as much exposure to competitive fastpitch softball.
Their next championship tournament will be at the Pete Livermore Complex in Carson city this Saturday and Sunday.
