Lassen Municipal Utility District has announced that two Lassen High graduates, Gwyneth Stubbs and John Riedel, are the recipients of the utility’s 2018 Community Scholarship.
Stubbs and Riedel are part of LHS’s class of 2018 and both were in the top-25 of their class, graduating with honors.
Riedel, the son of Susanville residents Aaron and Wendy Riedel, plans to attend Arizona State University where he will pursue an electric engineering degree.
Stubbs is the daughter of Aimee and Richard Stubbs. She has been accepted to California Polytechnic State University – San Louis Obispo, where she will study biological sciences with her eye on a career in the medical field.
“LMUD’s scholarship program is funded through the utilities Public Benefits program,” explains LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips. “Each year, two $1,500 scholarships are awarded to students who attend school in the district’s service territory and whose parents or guardians reside in a home served by LMUD.”
“Congratulations to Gwyneth and John. LMUD is proud to be able to contribute to their academic success.”
