Lassen Resident Resists Arrest, Injures Officer

On Sunday September 11th just after midnight, officers from the Susanville Police Department were contacted by security staff from the Diamond Mountain Casino concerning an intoxicated subject challenging them to fight in the parking lot.

On arrival, officers contacted the male subject later identified as Daniel Nasser, age 30, a Lassen County resident, who actively resisted their efforts to arrest him. Once in custody, the subject requested an ambulance and officers requested that one respond to the scene. They left when Nasser failed to cooperate with EMS workers and officers drove Nasser to Banner Lassen Medical Center. While in the emergency room, Nasser became combative and bit one of the officers on the arm while being restrained.

Nasser was transported to the Lassen County Jail and booked for Public Intoxication, Battery on a Peace Officer and Resisting an Officer. The injured officer was treated and released and the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney for prosecution
