Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Lassen Senior Services will be throwing a big barbecue fundraiser in the parking lot of the Tractor Supply Store to help raise money for a new heating and cooling system at the senior service agency’s Sunkist Drive facility. LSS is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing programs and services which will enhance the health and well being of the senior citizens here in Lassen County.
The cook-off will feature slow-cooked and smoked meats in four categories – chicken, ribs, pork butt and brisket – with prizes for tastiest meats awarded by expert judges! Everyone who attends the barbecue will get a chance to vote for a special ‘people’s choice’ award.
Along with some great cooking you can also enjoy live music and the parking lot will be filled with vendors and their unique crafts.
The competition truly gets underway the night before as the cooks begin slowly creating their masterpieces.
The cook-off starts at 11:00a.m., Saturday and you can stop by and grab something to eat all the way until 10:00 Saturday evening in the Tractor Supply Store’s parking lot at 124 Rob’s Way.
