The Lassen Volcanoes Swim Team is ready to dive into another exciting year of aquatic competition and skill-building. Registration for the 2026 season is officially open, offering a positive, success-oriented training program for local youth aged 5 to 18. Whether your child is looking to compete at a high level or is just starting their swimming journey, the Volcanoes provide a challenging and fun environment focused on healthy lifestyles, sportsmanship, and personal goals.
Important Dates and Registration Details
Online registration is currently open, and families can sign up by clicking here and visiting the official team website. For those who prefer to register in person or have specific questions for the staff, the team will be hosting an information session at the Susanville Pizza Factory on April 22nd, from 5:30 to 7:00p.m.
The season officially kicks off on May 20th and runs through the end of July. Before practices begin, all swimmers should attend the mandatory swim assessments held at the Honey Lake Valley Community Pool on May 18th at 3:30p.m. Please remember to bring a swimsuit, goggles, and a towel.
Coaches will determine groupings based on each swimmer’s current skill level.
Participation Requirements and Costs
The team is open to both returning members and new swimmers. To be eligible for the team, participants must be able to swim one full length of the pool unassisted using both freestyle and backstroke.
The cost for the season is tiered by age group: registration is $200 for swimmers aged 5 to 8, $225 for those aged 9 to 12, and $250 for athletes aged 13 to 18. These fees cover pool time as well as a team swimsuit and cap.
Please note that USA Swimming Insurance is not included in these costs, and families must register for that separately at usaswimming.org. For those looking to offset these costs, an individual fundraising opportunity is available that allows swimmers to earn a free season; interested families should ask for more details during the in-person registration event.

The Lassen Volcanoes believe in a holistic approach to competitive swimming that relies on the dedication of four integral groups. The swimmers themselves focus on technique, conditioning, and building positive relationships with their teammates. They are supported by parents who provide vital transportation and volunteer support, as well as coaches who cultivate a culture of respect, hard work, and a genuine passion for the sport. Finally, a volunteer Board of Directors ensures the smooth administration and financial health of the entire program.
