Leah Summer Corley, 49, died October 11, 2022, at home with her family in Susanville, CA.
Summer was born June 21, 1973, in Santa Cruz, CA to Glenda and Robert Cole. The oldest of 7 children, Summer graduated from Half Moon Bay High School in 1991. She continued on to Simpson University
where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1995, Teaching Credential in 1997, and Master of Arts 2006. In 1996 Summer met the man of her dreams, David Corley, and they were married June 26, 1999. Together
they had two beautiful girls, Hannah and Katelyn.
Summer cherished her family and friends and brought sunshine to all who knew her. She was a born teacher and spent 10 years teaching Fourth Grade and Kindergarten. She was involved in Children’s Ministry at every church she attended and was an active member of Community Church of Susanville. Summer had a deep faith in Jesus and loved to share her faith and pray for anyone who needed it.
Hobbies and interests for Summer included family, sewing, scrapbooking, taking pictures of family & friends, and brightening the day of everyone around her. She was completely devoted to taking care of and homeschooling her two girls. Summer loved the beauty of God’s creation and enjoyed walking and gardening outside with her family.
Summer is survived by her husband, David; daughters Hannah and Katelyn, mother Glenda, father Robert; sisters Lelea, Joanna, and Rebekah, brothers Clay and Jon.
