Levi Parker Rice October 9, 1982 – July 9, 2025
Levi Parker Rice, born October 9, 1982, in Susanville, California, to Randy and Marcelle Rice, he joined his brothers Joel and Casey to complete the Rice family.
In 1990, the Rice family moved to Janesville, where Levi’s love for the outdoors began to bloom. Surrounded by fresh mountain air and unexplored forests, he formed lifelong friendships and a deep appreciation for nature, two constants that would shape his life.
During his senior year at Lassen High School, Levi survived a life-changing car accident. The resiliency he showed along with the never-ending support from his family and his close friends helped him to get out of the hospital and still graduate high school and walk with his class. After High School, Levi moved to Eureka and continued his education at Humboldt State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with a minor in French – a language he spoke fluently, just like his Mom.
While attending Humboldt State, Levi met Sandra and immediately embraced her daughters, Vanessa and Alex, as his own. In 2011, he and Sandra welcomed their son, Zander, completing a family that meant the world to him. Being a father filled Levi with purpose – he adored his children and loved sharing his love of nature with them, especially the vast Redwoods in Humboldt County and the beautiful Ocean sunsets.
In his adult years, Levi worked a variety of jobs, most recently as a tech expert at Redwood Electronics in Eureka, where his intelligence and problem solving skills shined.
Levi was preceded in death by his mother, Marcelle. There was a private service held with close family/friends in Trinidad to lay their souls to rest.
He is survived by his father Randy, brothers Joel and Casey, daughters Vanessa and Alex, and son Zander, as well as a close circle of friends who became family and will continue to honor him.
Though Levi’s life ended too soon, the impact he made – through his resilience, smile, willingness to help others, and love for his family – will never die.
