Lassen High School is inviting parents and community members to another informational meeting and campus tour to learn about Measure “Y” and its proposed bond projects. The event will take place Wednesday, September 2nd, at 5:30p.m. in the Lassen High School Student Center, hosted by Superintendent/Principal Mark Brewer.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Measure “Y” Bond Informational Meeting and Campus Tour. We appreciated the opportunity to share information, answer questions, and showcase our facilities,” said Brewer.
“Due to the positive response and continued community interest, we are pleased to offer an additional informational meeting and tour for those who were unable to attend or would like to learn more.”
Measure “Y,” which is slated for the upcoming November 2026 ballot, is aimed at funding crucial improvements to the school’s aging facilities. According to the district, the bond would fund classroom renovations, heating and air conditioning system repairs, safety and security upgrades and new or modernized instructional spaces.
Specific projects identified in the measure include:
- Career and Technical Education (CTE): Construction and modernization of classrooms to support workforce preparation programs.
- Agricultural Education: Improvements and expansion of agricultural education facilities for FFA and hands-on learning.
- Science Facilities: Modernization of science classrooms and laboratories, including updated equipment and infrastructure.
- HVAC Upgrades: Repair and replacement of aging heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to improve indoor air quality and climate control.
- Campus Security: Safety and security enhancements designed to better protect students, staff, and visitors.
If approved by voters, Measure “Y” would authorize the district to issue up to $17.5 million in local school improvement bonds. The district estimates that the bond would generate approximately $1.083 million annually while outstanding. Property owners would see an estimated tax rate of $29.55 per $100,000 of assessed property value each year.
To pass, Measure “Y” must receive at least 55 percent voter approval.
