Linda Godman – February 16, 2022

Linda Godman

Linda Godman went home to be with the Lord February 16,2022. She was born March 30th, 1945 in Susanville California, the third of five children, to Robert and Mamie Jones. She attended Richmond School when it was a one room school and graduated from Lassen High School in 1963. Later in 1963 she married Calvin Godman and they raised two children, Brenda and Robert.

Linda worked many jobs in her life, waitress, homemaker and secretary. In the late 80’s she bought and ran Primo Deli. She soon decided the deli business wasn’t for her and sold real estate for a few years. After real estate, she went to work for Plumas Bank where she retired as a loan officer. Linda wore many hats in her professional life, but her true life’s work was supporting Calvin in their ministries in many local churches.

After retirement Linda and Calvin spent a great deal of time camping, quad riding and fishing. Nine times out of ten she would out fish Calvin. He would just smile and shake his head. Weeklong camping trips filled the grandkids with great, unforgettable memories and their annual dune trip has become a family tradition.
Linda loved to garden. In the early years of marriage, she raised a garden that kept the family in vegetables year-round. In her later years she grew a flower garden that was truly one of the bright spots of the whole community.

Linda was a wonderful wife and mother, but she really came into her own when her name got changed to Grammie. Spoiling grandkids was one of her greatest joys. While the aforementioned camping and dune trips were bright spots for the grandkids, Linda also kept them in the latest sneakers and fed them way too much, including ice cream dinners, any-time-of-the-day chicken strips and pounds of bacon for breakfast.

Linda was a wonderful blessing to friends and family and will be greatly missed. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mamie Jones, niece Tracy Jones and nephew Russ Jones. She is survived by her husband Calvin, brothers Bobby (Christine), Roy, Ronald (Renae) and Charles (Betty), daughter Brenda, son Robert and daughter in law Michelle, grandchildren Korien (John Wakeman), Lindsey (Brian Catron), Mikayla (Johnny Rasnic), Amanda ( Cain Towers), Samantha Wolf, Sabrina, Thomas Wolf and great-grandchildren, Khloee and Harper Catron and Jasnah Wakeman.
