LMUD Announces Start of Construction on New Eagle Lake Distribution Line

LMUD’s massive generator, currently serving areas around Eagle Lake where power was disrupted by the Whaleback fire.

Lassen Municipal Utility District Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips announced Friday that construction on the replacement Eagle Lake distribution line is set to begin on August 27th.

“The project will involve significant work along a 9.4 mile stretch of the east shoulder of county road A-1,” explained Phillips.

The line will provide electricity to LMUD customers in the communities that were affected by the Whaleback fire – Spalding, Bucks Bay, Stones and Grasshopper.

Construction is expected to last between 4 and 6 weeks. Traffic controls will be in place during the length of the project.

“LMUD thanks the community for their patience, support and understanding while this important work is conducted.”
