Lassen Municipal Utility District is currently receiving power from Honey Lake Power plant and while the power company is “islanding” with HLP, they are asking customers to please conserve energy between the hours of noon and 8:00p.m.
“If you can avoid it,” asks Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips, “please do not run your dishwashers and washing machines during the conservation hours. If you are on a well pump, please water early in the morning or after 8:00p.m.”
Please follow these guidelines:
ā¢ Set thermostats to 78 degrees.
ā¢ Use passive cooling by opening windows at night and closing them during the day.
ā¢ Avoid using major household appliances between the hours of noon and 7:00p.m.
ā¢ Use well pumps in the early morning or after 8:00p.m.
“By following these simple steps and working together, we can ensure that our community has power during this crucial time.”
You can reach the utility 24-hours a day at 257-4174.
