LMUD Closes Offices to the Public During COVID-19 Pandemic

In the interest of community safety, and the safety their employees, and in compliance with the federal social distancing guidelines, Lassen Municipal Utility District has suspended public access to their lobby and offices through April 30th.

“At this time, employees that can work from home are doing so, others are reporting to work as usual,” explains LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips.

“We are practicing social distancing and are taking extra precautions to limit employee contact with each other and the public. LMUD continues to conduct business via email, phone and fax.”

“We understand that closing the office impacts the way some of our customers pay their bills and other LMUD related business. In order to lessen the impact, we offer a variety of ways to serve your needs.”

Online bill pay – Visit their website at www.lmud.org and click on the “View/Pay Your Bill” link.

SmartHub app – LMUD’s SmartHub app allows you to view usage, pay your bill and communicate with LMUD office staff. Visit Google Play or Apple App store to download the app.

By phone – LMUD’s secure “IVR” payment line is available 24 hours a day. Simply call 530-257-4174 and follow the prompts.

At our office – LMUD’s payment drop box, located at 65 S. Roop, can be accessed anytime day or night. They ask that you pay by check, money order or cashiers check. They cannot accept cash payments at this time. If you require a receipt, please note that on your payment and they will mail it to you as soon as possible.

Start, stop or transfer service – While their office is closed, you can still stop, start or transfer service. Call our office at 530-257-4174 for details. Documents are available online at www.lmud.org, and in their office foyer located at 65 S. Roop

Phillips said that LMUD’s line crews will continue to respond to outage reports and other necessary calls. Their field personnel will be available on an as-needed basis; however, they are limiting their contact with the public and practicing social distancing.

LMUD will continue to monitor and evaluate this situation and provide updates and alerts to the community as they become available on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/lassenmud and on their website, www.lmud.org.
