Another phone scam is targeting customers of Lassen Municipal Utility District.
“There are reports of an unknown person calling LMUD customers demanding payment for past due bills and threatening disconnection,” the utility posted on social media earlier today. “If you receive a suspicious call demanding payment it is a scam!”

LMUD also reminded customers to never make a payment to anyone that cannot positively identify themselves as an LMUD employee.
