LMUD – POWER UPDATE

According to LMUD Energy Services Manager Theresa Phillips, the utility is receiving power from Honey Lake Power in Wendel this morning, and will continue to do so for the duration of the Chips fire burning in Plumas County.

LMUD’s lineman began the long process of switching to the local feed about 5:30p.m. when PG & E’s Caribou line, which normally feeds power to the system, once again became unstable because of the fire.

Power was restored to LMUD customers around 2:30 this morning.

At this time LMUD is asking their customers to conserve energy by unplugging or turning off all non-essential household equipment and appliances.

The utility also suggests that during this time, when the power is subject to interruption, to be prepared with bottled water, candles, a flashlight, batteries and extra food.

Power updates can be found at the LMUD’s website, www.lmud.org.
