As of August 5th Lassen Municipal Utility District is offering a new way to enroll in the utility’s outage text alert system.
“Effective August 5th,” explains LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Philips, “customers who wish to enroll in the program will text the letters, LMUD to the toll-free number, 877-754-7697.”
According to Phillips, customers who are already enrolled do not need to re-enroll.
Outage text alerts are sent when a major outage occurs within the LMUD service territory. Not all outage information is sent via text.
In the case of an isolated outage, or planned outage, LMUD provides information through their web site Outage Center, at www.lmud.org/outage, or through their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lassenmud.
