Susanville Park Plans Approved
April 12, 1947
City officials and members of Susanvilleās public park committee this week approved the final blueprint plans for what probably will be known as Susanville Memorial Park.
Glenn Hall, city planning engineer from Sacramento, presented two plans to the group. One of these plans was accepted as fitting the area for the cityās new park after some revisions had been made and agreed upon. Mr. Hall promised to have the final plans completed and back to Susanville within three weeks.
When these plans are received, the committee will immediately start primary action upon the park site. Survey of the plans indicate the park will include tennis courts, childrenās playground and wading pool, an area for teenage recreation, baseball park, handball courts, horseshoe courts, camp-fire circle, and a community or scout building as soon as feasible.
