Lassen Masons to Celebrate 100th Birthday
April 23, 1961

Public dedication and commemoration of 100 years of Masonry in Susanville will highlight the centennial celebration of Lassen Lodge No. 149, Free and Accepted Masons to be held here May 6.

A special communication of the Grand Lodge of Masons in California will be observed on the same day.

Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with registration of Masons and their guests at the Masonic Temple, Alfred F. Breslaur, grand master of California Masons, will preside at a public dedication and commemoration event in Susanville Memorial Park at 3 p.m.

Lassen County Fairgrounds will be the scene of a barbecue for all Master Masons and their families at 5 p.m. At 7 p.m., a special communication of the grand lodge and reception for grand lodge officers including grand master from Oregon and Nevada will be held in the Armory building at the fairgrounds. Visiting Mason women will be entertained at the Masonic Temple at the same time.

A special hospitality committee is ready to help with motel and hotel accommodation, James A Brown of 12 Sunkist Drive, Susanville, will arrange housing reservations. Reservations for the barbeque will be handled by Robert M. Fulton, 155 S. Gay St., Susanville.
