Parade Ceremonies Mark Little League Opener

Susanville’s Little League season will open with a big bang tomorrow beginning at 10a.m. with a gala parade from South Roop Street down Main to McDow and then on to the Little League field.
Opening ceremonies including the introduction of the Board of Directors, managers, coaches and players and the traditional throwing out of the first ball by a member of the city council will follow at 10:30a.m.
Three games, one in each division will then be played to kick off the 1975 schedule. The Farm Astros will meet the Farm Pirates at 11:30a.m., the Minor Tigers will take on the Minor Yankees at 1:30p.m. and the Major Tigers and Major Yankees will clash at 3:30p.m.
The day’s activities will conclude at 7:30p.m. with a Dime-a-Dip potluck at the McKinley School Multipurpose Room. Each Little League family is to bring a hot dish and salad or cake, and their own table service. Coffee and milk will be provided. The big drawing for the food baskets will be at 8:30p.m.
All Little Leaguers who have not taken their can of food for the food basket to Super 88 must do so by 5p.m. today or to the Snack bar at the Little League field tomorrow.
All money from ticket sales for the food basket drawing and ticket stubs must also be turned in at the Little League field tomorrow before 5p.m.
