LMUD Presents: This Day in Susanville History – April 4, 1952

Youngsters Get Use of Fields
April 4th, 1952

Three practice fields have been made available for teams of the Susanville Little League it was reported. The practice field committee said that grounds at Lassen Union high school and at Lincoln and McKinley elementary schools may be used for this purpose.

The league hopes to get one more practice field to allow one for each of the four teams.

Names of local men volunteering as umpires were announced by the committee in charge as follows: Delbert McFadden, Al Stahlberg, Bill Salina, O. W. Chatfield, Junior Malone, Orval Dieter, Floyd Talbot, Jim Kincaid, Kelly Price, Buck Isaacs and Bill White.

The group will meet soon to elect a chief umpire.

Little League tryouts are to be held soon, after which an auction will be set.
