New Business
April 7, 1977

Twelve-year-old Tom Brown is operating the only shoeshine stand in Susanville, in the Pioneer Barber Shop at 724 Main Street.

Tom opened his stand during the past Easter vacation, and is presently working every day after school and Saturdays. He hopes to earn enough money to buy himself a motorcycle.

He is the son of Tom and Chris Brown of Susanville, and is a sixth-grader at Diamond View School. Pictured above are Tom and satisfied customer Dale Hansen of the Super 88 Store. (Advocate photo).
