Nutrition Program Wins $200 Worth of Hams
December 11, 1975
DENNIS McKINSEY, 22, the cook for the Senior Citizens Nutrition Program, took in $200 worth of hams for the program Friday, from Safeway, after the program won the right to “take anything up to $200” from the store in a three-minute period.
Theta Mu, a local service organization, sold tickets last November for the shopping spree, and the program won the spree earlier this month.
Store manager, Jim Zinn, checked out McKinsey’s shopping cart, and after the spree was paid for by Theta Mu, McKinsey said the ham will be used to feed a Christmas dinner to about 120 people in Susanville, Chester and Westwood.
The dinners will all be held next week, and will all be cooked by McKinsey.
