Local Talent Have Part in Westwood Store Christmas Broadcast
December 18, 1934
Two or three Susanville girls and boys will take part in the annual radio program broadcast to be staged in the Westwood Department Store Saturday when young folk from several Lassen County communities will either sing or give recitations. The broadcast is slated to start at 3 o’clock.
The program will be made up of children’s entertainment and will be broadcast from the store’s studio exactly as it would be from a national hook-up. Santa Claus will also speak to the children. He will probably have a surprise for them too.
Mothers, fathers and friends are requested to bring their children to the store to hear these adorable youngsters’ voices, some very young ones, four and five years old, sing and speak. There will also be Christmas carols.
There will be loud speakers throughout the building so you can hear the program if you are having tea in the store or if you are doing your shopping, but in any event mothers, fathers and friends should hear the program and bring the children to see Santa Claus.
The little children of Susanville are invited to come if accompanied by an adult, and any talented child may make application to Miss Margarette Ferris to perform in these broadcasts.
