Christmas Day is Celebrated in Susanville
December 26, 1935
Susanville celebrated a merry Christmas this year as civic and fraternal organizations joined with private families in the annual observance.
Church services throughout the city were well attended by the usual holiday crowds.
Groups of Epworth Leaguers sand carols throughout the city on Christmas Eve to add further to the holiday background.
A decided “outburst” of outdoor Christmas trees was also evidenced this year, many families installing lighted trees outside their homes.
A satisfactory holiday trade was reported from all merchants and the ordinary number of “last minute” shoppers made their appearances on Tuesday to further swell the retail volume.
