Cheerful Giving Lands Susanville Man Behind Bars
December 31, 1954
Jack Michael, who attempted to bring some unauthorized holiday cheer to county jail prisoners, will join the boys behind bars himself.
Michael was found guilty of purchasing and placing two bottles of wine near an ash can behind the jail, intending the wine for trusties working nearby.
He was found guilty following hearing before Judge Ben V. Curler, and was sentenced to spend three months in jail.
A three-year term of probation was added to the sentence.
