Canned Goods Will Admit You to Show and Help the Needy
December 9, 1939

The management of Sierra Theatre, cooperating with the 20-30 Club Christmas basket program, has generously offered to arrange admission to all children of grammar school age who will present one article of canned goods at the door for admission on Saturday afternoon.

Any child who brings one can of goods or some similar food item will be admitted to the Saturday matiness.

Showing that day will be “U-Boat 29” and Gene Autry in “Roving Tumbleweeds.”

W. D. Stevens of the Sierra Theater heartily endorsed the project by the 20-30 Club and agreed to hold this matinee, Saturday December 16 in order to help the club gather enough foodstuffs to make up the fifty or more baskets they will distribute to needy families the day before Christmas.

Here’s a chance to have some fun and at the same time do a needy family some real good. Kids, so beg, borrow or “slip out” a can of beans or anything to attend thew show.
