Park Improvement Project Endorsed
February 21st, 1950
City council went on record at its regular meeting Monday night in favor of the park planning commission’s recommendations for park improvements this spring.
The improvements agreed upon were, installation of pathways; installation of chains on steel posts across the three entrances on North street, installation of outlets on the water system and hiring a caretaker under the supervision of the street superintendent, Glen Thompson.
The council voted to cultivate and level the park grounds before putting in paths as suggested.
Bronson & Doyle, and Doyle Motors offered to donate the use of equipment for the grading and Sherman Rea and Jim McQueen, councilman and T. W. Newell, volunteered to do the work over as many weekends as should be required.
