Theatre Name Reconsidered
February 25, 1935

In response to wide-spread protest against the apparently unpopular name “Alpine” which was designated for Susanville’s new theatre, T. & D. officials have reversed their decision and decided on the name “Sierra” for the edifice.

The new name was contributed by De Esta Burr of this city. Burr will be awarded a duplicate first prize and all former prize winners will stand as announced.

The new building will be opened on or about the eighth of March according to present plans.

Interior decorating is now nearing the final stages of completion as a full crew of men is being kept busy.
