Community Digs out from Heavy Weekend Snow
February 27, 1975
Susanville residents joined with other communities in Northeastern California this week to dig out from the heavy snows which started on Friday and continued through Tuesday.
Precipitation has been light Wednesday and Thursday with warmer temperatures during the day that aided state, county and city employees in their snow removal jobs that continued around the clock.
The top photo shows the approximately 35 ft. canopy of the State Cafe which collapsed on S. Gay Street Monday night.
The lower scene is on Nevada Street looking west from the Lassen Street intersection. Both pictures were taken on Wednesday afternoon. (Advocate photos).
