LMUD Presents: This Day in Susanville History – February 3, 1939

Above is the Delta Queen, palatial floating hotel, on which Lassen county excursionists with other people of the Shasta-Cascade Wonderland, will cruise down the Sacramento river Friday night, February 17, to land at Treasure Island for dedication of the Shasta-Cascade building and participation in the World’s Fair Premiere Saturday morning, February 18.

This luxury steamer of the River Lines has been chartered by the Shasta-Cascade Wonderland Association which is sponsoring the excursion to clear the port of Sacramento at 6 o’clock, February 17.

After a night of music, entertainment and dancing the party will arrive at Treasure Island in time for opening ceremonies.

Accommodations are rapidly being filled and those who intend going on the excursion should make reservations at once.
