Lassen Arranges Housing for County Hospital Patients
February 9, 1935

County hospital patients will be housed in the hospital annex and cottages on county property, it was decided at a meeting of the Lassen County Board of Supervisors Wednesday.

Pending a report of insurance adjusters called to Susanville after fire had destroyed the hospital, the county will care for its own instead of leasing a dormitory from the Fruit Growers Supply Company.

The board also discussed the problem of indigents passing through Westwood, forming a problem to that community, and took steps to have work on the sidewalks along Main Street in Milwood resumed. Work was halted by the SERA Tuesday because of a dispute over who should pay for the materials.

The sidewalk project is designed to safeguard children attending the Lincoln school, who are forced to walk on the highway en route to classrooms.
