LMUD Presents: This Day in Susanville History – January 15, 1932

A snapshot view of Lassen High School in 1941

Businessmen in Meeting with Local Teachers
January 15, 1932

Several of Susanville’s businessmen met in a conference with Lassen High Commercial teachers in the cafeteria of the High School Monday noon to discuss commercial subjects and ways and means by which Lassen graduates can be better suited for commercial work.

Banks, stores, mills and telephone companies were represented in the meeting by Messrs. Bridges, Alexander, Pardee, Lyle, Mathews and Birmingham.

Many former Lassen graduates have entered Susanville’s Commercial field and the majority of these have been successful in their respective positions, which shows that the high school teachers are on the right track in their manner of teaching.

The businessman told of what they expected in students entering commercial work and how these expectations can be fulfilled.
