Safety Plans are Advocated
January 16, 1941

The Susanville Monticola Club of which Mrs. Katherine Tompers is president, has instructed its highway committee to take action to provide greater safety for motorists on the road between Susanville and Doyle on the Reno highway.

It was pointed out that some years ago the State Federation of Women’s Clubs sponsored a movement to paint white safety lanes on every state highway. In most areas this practice is carried out.

The Susanville to Doyle highway is without the white ribbon of paint, dividing the highway, and the local club is out to see that the present hazard is removed.
