LMUD Presents: This Day in Susanville History – January 16, 1972

New Sprouse Reitz Store will Open Today
January 16, 1972

AN ALL NEW SPROUSE-REITZ store will open for business at its location in the Susanville Shopping Center, 1618 Main St., at 9:00a.m. today.

The store has been closed for more than three weeks to allow for a complete remodeling of the storeroom to provide a new fabric center and many enlarged departments.

Joe Hiner, manager, pictured above with his wife, Judy, as they inspected final preparations being made in the fabric shop, said all new fixtures have been added and the departments rearranged and enlarged to provide greater shopping convenience for customers.

A three day grand opening starting today and ending on Sunday has been scheduled. Many prizes are being offered with an RCA color TV as grand prize.

In addition, other prizes will be awarded at 1, 4 and 6p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
