Vicki Salas Wins Citizenship Award

THE SOROPTIMIST CLUB of Susanville presented Vicki Salas the Youth Citizenship Award on Tuesday, January 18th, at their luncheon meeting.
Wanda Mallery, chairman of the Soroptimist Youth Projects, presented a $100 bill to Miss Salas, an award given annually to a senior boy or girl based on citizenship, fellowship, grades and Americanism.
Judges are from outside the Soroptimist circle and Miss Salas was picked from a group of applicants within the local community.
Vicki was honored to receive the award and stated, “this $100 will go toward helping me through Shasta or Heald’s Business College.” Pictured from right are Darlene Ellena, president, Vicki Salas and Wanda Mallery. (Eastman’s Studio photo).
