Toboggan Slide Ready Tomorrow
January 23, 1932

According to City Engineer, Riddell, work on Susanville’s toboggan slide, extending from the north of Pine Street near the Ralph Allen home to Roop Street at the Model Laundry, is nearing completion and is expected to be ready for the use of public tomorrow.

Susanville’s charity workers have been kept bust this week, filling in low spots and ditches, clearing ground and packed snow into the slide. Enough snow is packed in at present to last about two weeks. The street lighting system has been extended at night with spot lights.

The ski slide and sleighing hill, also being built, will not be finished by tomorrow, according to Riddell but it expected to be in readiness by the first of the week. A large crowd is expected to be present at the opening of the slide tomorrow.
