Wet Snow Yesterday
January 23, 1973
Weather predictions for snow down to 4,000 feet on Wednesday proved correct as Susanville residents discovered yesterday morning that 8 to 10 inches of wet snow had fallen during the night.
City crews are pictured above as they moved the snow to the middle of South Lassen Street.
Highway crews are busy clearing snow on major highways in and out of Susanville today. Travel is difficult over mountain passes, but they are open with restrictions.
The moisture laden snow created a heavy mess that locally took down tree limbs and utility lines.
Much of the snow had melted by yesterday afternoon as the thermometer climbed to the high 30’s. (Advocate photo).
