Work to Commence on Herlong School

Superintendent H. Lawson Smith announced that construction of the new elementary school in Herlong will start January 7.
The $347,247 project of ten classrooms and administrative offices will house the kindergarten through part of the third grade. Provision is made for a school board and superintendent’s office which will be the administrative center of the district.
A. T. Mercier, district engineer, Housing and Home Finance Agency will be in charge of the inspection for the project. The architect is Robert Kaestner of Visalia.
Plans were developed over a two year period with the cooperation of local school officials.
