Six Hours of Freedom After Escaping Lassen Jail
January 31, 1928

Joe Walley, in jail here charged with burglary, and also know by many aliases, enjoyed a brief freedom when he climbed out of a window in the basement of the county jail and enjoyed about six hours of freedom.

Walley asked permission to take a bath and, going downstairs, he espied an open window through which some wood was being delivered to the jail.
