LMUD Presents: This Day in Susanville History – July 16, 1974

Fair Insignia Name Contest
July 16, 1974

Lassen County Fair will sport a new insignia this year on premium books, ribbons and trophies. In future years it will also be used on stationery and other materials connected with the fair.

The handsome young “bull of the woods” was designed to depict the major features of the fair as well as the county’s economy — agriculture, lumbering and recreation.

This week Fair Manager Al Martin announced a contest to name this new personality. To the person submitting the best name will go two box seats to every grandstand event at the 1974 fair and 20 free passes for rides at the carnival. Entries should be mailed by Aug. 1st to P. O. Box 472, Susanville, Calif. 96130.
