Trophies Awarded to Winners in Susanville Junior Bowling League Play
June 1, 1971

SATURDAY, CLIMAXED THE 1970-71 season for the Susanville Junior League bowlers. The day started with a roll-off between the winners of the first and second halves with the team of Gene Bach, Mark Bach, Mike Amistani and Ricky Lee winning the match to become league champions.

Second place honors went to the team of Greg Lovell, Greg Williams, Rod Harrington and John Stewart.

Trophies were also awarded to the following: Armand Nino, high game scratch, 210; Marc Woodward, high game handicap, 221; Albert Foley, high series scratch, 321; Gene Bach, high series handicap, 355 and Danny Hamilton, most improved bowler. Special awards were given to Vicki Scroggins, Christ Harrington, Gayle Bird and Kathy Ott, the only girls in the league.

The day ended with a party at Sierra Lanes with cake, ice cream and Cokes being served to all the juniors and their families. The league sign-ups for the 1971-72 season will be in the fall and all juniors aged nine are invited to join.
