Lassen College Women Graduates Luncheon Guests of Soroptimists

SOPHOMORE WOMEN GRADUATES of Lassen Community College were honored at the regular luncheon meeting of the Soroptimist Club of Susanville on Tuesday, May 18. Program chairman for the day, Ellen Collins, welcomed the young women and introduced co-chairman, Janet Goodrich, who in turned introduced the young women, making a brief resume of each girl’s career at Lassen College and telling her plans following Lassen. A lovely corsage was presented to each guest.
Other guests besides the graduates were members of the college office staff Mrs. Edna Baston, secretary to the president and vice president; Mrs. Cheryl Graham, secretary to the Dean of Students, and Mrs. Jane Jeskey, receptionist. Unable to be present were graduates Judy Helton and Marilyn Shears.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Goodrich, as chairman of the Memorial Scholarship committee, announced that Tessa Bevins was the recipient. The news was welcomed with a round of applause. President Alice McDonald thanked the girls for coming and closed the meeting by leading the Soroptimist pledge.
