Dining Room at New Hotel to be Opened
June 2, 1926

With the arrival this week of C. C. Newton and E. Merritt, plans for the installation of the dining room in the Hotel Mt. Lassen are progressing rapidly. Newton and Merritt have leased the dining room from the hotel and are planning to begin service within three weeks.

Both men are veteran restaurant proprietors, having been in the business for more than twenty-five years. They propose to install the finest and most up-to-date coffee shop and restaurant in the state, north of Sacramento.

The coffee shop will be the last word in establishments of this kind and will be modeled to some extent after the famous Senator Coffee Shop in Sacramento.

H. W. Bening of the Dohrmann Hotel Supply Company is also here to superintend the installation of the kitchen equipment.
