Riverside Hospital Now Incorporated
March 10, 1921
The Riverside Hospital, one of the new institutions of greater Susanville was incorporated last week, with Dr. Geo. S. Martin, one of the principal stockholders, as president.
The hospital proper contains sixty beds and two operating rooms, fully equipped. A dispensary is located at the plant of the Fruit Growers Supply Company where first aid treatment is given and patients are cared for until their removal to the hospital.
All the instruments and equipment are the most up to date and best that are available at this time, and were purchased at a very low cost by Dr. Martin from the State Army before he left the service.
The building, while not yet completed, is open for public inspection and courteous attendants will be pleased to show visitors through.
The grounds will be laid out in lawn and shrubs immediately, and when this is done another show place will have been added to this community’s rapidly increasing number of permanent institutions.
A limited amount of stock in the Riverside Hospital will be offered for sale in the near future, and those who are fortunate enough to pick this up will have an assured addition to their income, as it is preferred to the tent of eight per cent annually.
