Consideration Monday Night Will Set Committee At Work
“Lassen County Day” or any other descriptive caption that will serve as an invitation to people from everywhere to come to Susanville, found approval in the sentiment of the Susanville Chamber of Commerce at its luncheon discussion yesterday.

C. D. Mathews proposed a Fourth of July celebration; Ivor Clark recalled the days of his boyhood and observed that how his own son 12 years of age had had no such experiences as the boys used to have; Bob Winchester expressed enthusiasm over the proposition of bringing friends from far and near to enjoy themselves in Susanville; Don Cook, speaking as one of the younger generation who had never seen Susanville “celebrate” observed that from this standpoint “Susanville is dead”; E. E. Coffin favored the proposal to “do something.”

This subject will be a principal topic at the directors’ meeting next Monday evening when committees will be appointed.

Ivor Clark invited the interest of the chamber in a proposed gathering of sportsmen of northern California at an early date yet to be determined.

President Travis urged representation next Sunday at a meeting of the Plumas county chamber and Mining Chapter at Portola.
