March 12th, 1942

The deadline for filing declarations of candidacy for city offices was at noon today with the election scheduled for April 14, but no contests are in view unless the voters write-in names on the ballots.

Filing for city council without opposition were Paul T. Wemple and Wallace C. Mass, both prominent Lassen county business men.

Two positions on the council are without candidates.

Bertha M. Fulton filed for city treasurer and John Harrison for city clerk. Both are incumbents.
