Marijuana Seized in Westwood Raid
March 24, 1972
SHERIFF BEN YEAKEY displays a cache of marijuana seized by the Westwood Substation last week when they searched a residence at 213 Cedar in Westwood. The raid, under the direction of Sgt. Tom Holybee, netted about 38 pounds of marijuana, the largest such confiscation in the county’s history.
At left, Sheriff Yeakey displays a plastic garbage can containing about 16 pounds of marijuana, while the remainder of the illegal weed is sacked in approximate one pound bags at right.
The marijuana, which had been processed to the consistency of coarse sawdust, was apparently in the process of being bagged prior to the confiscation. (Advocate photo).
