LMUD Presents: This Day in Susanville History – March 25, 1946

Honor Awarded to FFA Member
March 25, 1946

Edward Sanger of Standish, is the winner in Lassen union high school of the Annual California bankers award, and is one of 150 agricultural students in the state to receive the honor.

The award is made to the FFA members whose record in agriculture, during the past year, is outstanding. The three factors are scholarship, FFA leadership, and farm project. Sanger had better than a B average an served his club as local and sectional reporter. He is carrying projects in hogs, dairy, sheep and 20 acres of grain, with a total value of more than $1,000.

According to A.D. Kinsey, agriculture instructor, it is “one of the most outstanding FFA projects O have ever seen on all of the time I have been teaching.”

The framed certificate is signed by the governor of the state, president of the association, state director of vocational agriculture, ad the local agriculture instructor.
