Motorists Warned to Beware of Deer

Lassen County Game Warden Elmer Doty disclosed that seven deer were struck by cars and killed Saturday night between Janesville and Hallelujah Junction.
He again warned motorists to drive cautiously in this area because the Doyle deer herd is on the move back into the mountains.
The California state highway patrol has promised to enforce traffic and speed laws strictly in this area, day and night, to further prevent large kills of deer.
Care were badly damaged by striking the deer, although no passengers were injured.
Six of the deer were struck and killed on Highway 395, between Milford and Hallelujah Junction; three of them were bucks and four does. The seventh deer was hit on the highway between Janesville and Milford.
