More Than 350 Gather at Lassen County Dairy Day
May 8, 1937

Dairy day held last Friday at the Jim McClelland ranch near Standish was attended by more than 350 Lassen county agriculturist, Future Farmers if America and members of the Four-H club. The program was in charge of Farm Advisor T. S. Brown.

Ice cream was donated by Bennett and Layton’s creamery during the lunch hour after which the meeting of the day was held. Extensionist Gordon from Berkley was the main speaker of the afternoon talking on dairying emphasizing the importance of cow testing and other valuable points.

Power Official Speaks at Meet

Eighty-five farm people from Doyle to Elysian Valley met at the Buntingville school house Thursday night when J.N. Laughlin spoke to them on the possibilities of furnishing electric light and power to their homes through federal aid.

Laughlin, who is secretary and manager of the Blairsden Power and Water Company, represented the rural electrification administration and explained to the farmers the federal program
